Can a 16-Year-Old Vegan Surfer Qualify for the World Tour? | Paddling Out with Tia Blanco, Ep. 1 A 16-year-old who is not only gorgeous but super talented on a surfboard? What's not to like? Tia Blanco is only a teenager but she surfs far beyond her years. The goofy-footer from San Clemente, California has been riding waves since her father began pushing her into rollers at Waikiki when she was only three. At 16 she's ready to take on the world, in between getting a license, graduating high school, making sure her diet is perfectly plant based, and doing all the other things sixteen year olds do, of course. In this episode Tia introduces herself and showcases her lip game at Huntington beach. The waves are classic, mushy SoCal, but Tia's snaps are a sweet combination of old school flow mixed with new school flare. We're following Tia as she sets out to qualify for the World Championship Tour. It'll be an amazing ride but not an easy one. Stay tuned for the highs, the lows, and naturally, tons of great surfing.
