GABRIEL MEDINA: PRIMO CAMPIONE DEL MONDO BRASILIANO

Ha solamente 20 anni, raggiunge la vetta del circuito ASP diventando il primo brasiliano della storia ad aggiudicarsi un titolo mondiale.

Una giornata piena di sorprese sulla North Shore, dove a farcela è stato il giovane Gabriel Medina: primo titolo per il ventenne e primo titolo della storia del surf per un rider brasiliano. La vittoria di Medina è arrivata al Round 5, quando Mick Fanning ha perso la sua heat. Kelly Slater è invece uscito subito al terzo round, perdendo così le speranze per il titolo 2014.

La storia del surf competitivo aggiunge così un’altra bandiera alla lista dei campioni e sicuramente non è facile vincere un titolo mondiale in questi tempi.
Prima di incontrare il surf, come milioni di altri giovani brasiliani, Gabriel amava giocare a calcio. Ma con grande gioia possiamo dire che il suo cambio di rotta è stato più che gradito.
