NEWS DA BETHANY HAMILTON

Bethany è una famosa surfista statunitense arrivata prima in diverse competizioni americane. Quello per cui è diventata famosa però non sono state tanto le sue perfomance sulla tavola ma bensì l' attacco di uno squalo tigre che le lacerò il braccio sinistro all' età di 13 anni mentre era sdraiata sulla tavola. Portata con urgenza in ospedale venne fortunatamente operata senza conseguenze gravi. Dopo sette mesi tornò alle sue competizioni, la propria vocazione era il surf ! Bethany è conosciuta anche per avere scritto il suo libro autobiografico Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board da cui poi è stato tratto ispirazione per l' omonimo film. Con una tavola da surf su misura, per la sua menomazione, si trova ancora nelle grandi competizioni tenendo ancora ritmi alti. Nel tempo ha trovato un compagno con cui si è sposata e proprio quest' anno ci annuncia l' arrivo di un figlio. Bethany sta continuando a fare la sua parte come missionaria cristiana essendo molto legata alla sua fede che la porta ad andare avanti con le sfide della vita. Questa sua forza spirituale di cui parla con fierezza la porta anche a continuare la sua fondazione di beneficenza Amici di Betania. In seguito una parte dell' articolo di quest' anno:

Adam and I enjoyed our last times together without a baby; it was time that we will cherish. Now our adventure as parents has begun!

We prepped a lot for Tobias to come. Adam set up his bed, stroller and other Baby stuff. One night our whole house had baby clothes spread all over it and we categorized his cloths into different ages. It was CRAzy and lots of fun going through the lil guys adorable outfits!!
A week before Tobias came, we finished our last birthing class (a total of 10!) that was centered on the Bradley Method, a natural approach to birth. This class, built both Adam and my understanding of birth. It also brought unity and confidence between us for the birthing journey. Overall, the birth was THE most intense thing I've ever done! Thankful that everything went smoothly and Tobias came out healthy and strong.
As we have entered into parenthood, excited as we are, we also know there are a lot of unknown challenges ahead. Some we are already facing. The first month was amazing, but really really challenging. We fall in love with Tobias just looking at him! He also brings other emotions when his crying is off the charts!!
Whether in parenting or not, life's unknowns can be very intimidating. I find we can dwell on and develop fear of what we don't know is ahead of us. In all my unknowns, I place my trust in God's promises, which remain known and will be there always for my security in Him. His lasting love and his forgiveness are always there for you and me.

Peace with God Through Faith

"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God." (Romans 5:1-2 ESV)
